A combination of stylish contemporary design and traditional hands-on watchmaking, the Quai Des Bergues Guilloché Ricochet Aqua Blue S watch features an exquisite métiers d’art dial of intricate guilloché in a vibrant blue tone. Complementing the aesthetic pleasure of its dial, the watch is powered by the company’s acclaimed proprietary SHX1 manual wind calibre and is presented in an exclusive edition of only 15 pieces.

Czapek, a prestigious and historically significant watchmaking name was reborn in 2015, and since then, their timepieces have become an excellent find for aficionados of independent watchmaking.

The Czapek Quai Des Bergues Guilloché Ricochet Aqua Blue S carries a stainless steel case measuring 38.5mm across. Beautifully formed and constructed it has a rounded bezel and elongated curved lugs.

Beneath the curved sapphire crystal, the magnificent aqua blue dial is executed to perfection using a manual rose engine onto a domed bombé disc of gold, silver, palladium and platinum alloy. Rendered in a technique conceived by Czapek himself, the exclusive Ricochet guilloché motif employed creates mesmerising overlapping circles which ripple and fan out from around the two recessed subdials creating a hypnotic effect. The small constant seconds are displayed in the subdial at the 7.30 and this is complemented by the joint seven day power reserve and weekday indicator at the 4.30 location, while applied markers, skeletonised and rhodium plated steel hands and a single numeral at the 12 o’clock complete this superb dial arrangement.

Inside the watch, the superb SXH1 proprietary calibre affirms the commitment of Czapek to movement development and high-end finishing. Openworked bridges on the gear train lend it an airy character, while meticulous sandblasting, bevelling, hand-chamfering, and circular and snailed finishing techniques add character and prestige. Beating at 21’600 vib/h the movement has a 7 day reserve of power when fully hand wound.
