With a dial dressed in an intense shade of midnight blue, the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Bleu Nuit edition has all the requirements demanded of a beautifully styled, yet contemporary dress watch.
A superb addition to the flagship Excellence collection by Swiss Independent watchmaking company Louis Erard, the Excellence Petite Seconde Bleu Nuit resides in a 39mm casing of stainless steel. A high polish finish enhances its rounded architecture, while a rounded bezel, flowing lugs and a knurled crown add further distinction to its profile.
Rendered in a beautiful shade of deep blue, the dial surface features a trio of finishing techniques with a satin-brushed sector for the chapter ring, matte at the centre and subtle snailing on the recessed small seconds at the six o’clock location. From the centre, the rhodium-plated hour and minutes hands are of the company’s distinctive fir-tree shape, with finely tapering ends which reach out towards the slender applied hour numerals and markers which have a light catching glossy silver finish. In contrast, the small seconds carries an arrow-shaped hand, diminutive markers and a central cross-hair motif while its dial is distinguished by a rhodiumed frame.
Viewable through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, the élaboré grade Swiss mechanical Sellita SW261-1 self-winding movement features a semi-skeletonised Louis Erard oscillating weight, and it boasts a power reserve of thirty-eight hours, beating at a brisk 28’800 vib/h.
A piece which exhibits perfect proportions and an abundance of styling nuances, the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Bleu Nuit watch comes presented on a midnight blue grained calf leather strap with visible attachment point stitching, secured via a polished steel pin buckle.
