Limited to only 178 pieces, this spirited edition of the acclaimed 2340 watch features a beautifully rendered artwork of the gutsy Tezuka Productions character, who blazes a trail across a multi-layered dial while pursued by a villainous presence against a shadowy Metro City backdrop. Just weeks after the superb integrated sports 2340 watch collection was announced, Louis Erard have already evolved the series with a fantastic pop culture edition that captures the incredible dynamism of the character Astro Boy. The watch is presented in the strikingly handsome 2340 case, sized at 40mm, which is manufactured from titanium with a stainless steel crown, bezel and lugs, and at only 8.95mm tall, the neat wrist presence of the model is complemented by a superb integrated bracelet, with satin and polished finishing defining the profile of both the case and the bracelet.

Collaborating with Tezuka Productions, Louis Erard have created with exceptional detail the iconic Astro Boy character whose colourful presence on the dial elevates the aesthetics of this special edition. Rather than simply printing the artwork, it has been carefully applied so that it stands out wonderfully against an engraved and vertically satin-finished Metro City skyline. Although pursued by a villain, who is outlined in deep black, our little hero is nonplussed, and raises a tiny fist in defiance while leaving a trail of smoke in his wake. A raised circular rehaut printed with a white minutes track and subtle Louis Erard branding with blue Super-LumiNova enhancement frames the scene, and the dial is finished with rhodium-plated hands.

Behind the closed caseback, which is engraved with an Astro Boy motif, the automatic Sellita SW300-1 movement beats at 28’800 vib/h. The élaboré grade movement derives a power reserve of 56 hours and is equipped with a black lacquered Louis Erard symbol.
