Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the United Arab Emirates, the LM Split Escapement EVO UAE Golden Jubilee is a 10-piece limited edition developed by MB&F at the request of the Seddiqi family. The model retains Stephen McDonnell’s original Split Escapement architecture, in which the large suspended balance wheel floats above the dial while the escapement wheel and anchor sit 12 mm below, connected by an unusually long balance staff. This configuration creates the LM’s signature depth and visual separation of regulating components.
The piece is housed in a 44 mm grade 5 titanium EVO case, notable for its bezel-less design, allowing the domed sapphire crystal to merge directly with the case body. The movement has been rotated 30° clockwise compared with earlier versions, shifting the crown to 4:30 and altering the dial’s geometry. On the salmon-toned base, dark grey indications provide clear contrast: off-centre hours and minutes at 2 o’clock, date display at 10 o’clock, and power reserve at 6 o’clock. The EVO construction incorporates a monobloc shock-absorbing FlexRing, significantly improving impact resistance for daily wear. Combined with reinforced water resistance to 80 m and a rubber strap, the model transitions easily into more active environments while preserving MB&F’s sculptural horology.
The movement is manual-winding with a 72-hour power reserve, exhibiting extensive hand-finishing across bridges and components. The UAE Golden Jubilee edition distinguishes itself through its unique colour palette, revised layout, and limited production, making it one of the rarest LM Split Escapement EVO executions. A limited edition of 10 pieces, pre-owned in mint condition with box, papers and warranty dated 2022.
