Supermoon

The Sarpaneva Supermoon is a highly engineered independent wristwatch built around the sculptural Korona case architecture and a multi‑layered skeletonised dial produced in collaboration with Kari Voutilainen’s Comblémine manufactory. The case is manufactured from locally sourced Finnish Outokumpu Supra 316L/4435 stainless steel, finished with contrasting brushed and polished surfaces to emphasise the scalloped Korona geometry. Measuring 42 mm in diameter and 11.4 mm in height, it features a screw‑in crown positioned at 4 o’clock, engraved with Sarpaneva’s signature Moon Face.

The dial is a three‑part skeletonised steel lattice, coated in matte anthracite DLC, inspired by the industrial steel grates found in the watchmaker’s Helsinki neighbourhood. A brushed steel chapter ring carries the hour indices, adding depth and contrast. Beneath the dial, the white‑gold Moon Face rotates on a 59.5‑day lunar cycle, partially visible through the aperture at 6 o’clock.

Powering the Supermoon is a modified Soprod A10 automatic calibre, visible through the sapphire caseback. The movement operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), features Sarpaneva’s Moon Face on the rotor, and delivers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. The watch is water‑resistant to 100 m (10 ATM) and is supplied on a hand‑made leather strap with stainless‑steel pin buckle, with the Sarpaneva Moonbridge stainless‑steel bracelet available on request.

Produced in a limited edition of 12 pieces, the Supermoon represents one of Sarpaneva’s most distinctive expressions of three‑dimensional dial architecture and independent Finnish watchmaking.
