Introduced in 1942, the Angelus Chronodato was the world’s first series-produced chronograph wristwatch with a full calendar, marking a significant milestone in horological innovation. This example, dating to around 1945, features a manual winding movement housed in a bold 38mm gold and steel case, offering a striking two-tone aesthetic characteristic of the era. The watch presents a champagne dial with Arabic numerals, gracefully aged with signs of wear consistent with its age. Despite visible scratches and case wear, the dial remains legible and showcases its day, date, and month complications through aperture and pointer displays, along with chronograph subdials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. These features made the Chronodato a technical marvel of its time and a highly collectible reference today. Powering the watch is Angelus’ robust manual movement, delivering reliable chronograph function and calendar accuracy, even by today’s standards. It is fitted with a black leather strap and buckle clasp for comfortable wear.

Although this piece comes without its original box or papers, it retains much of its historic appeal and mechanical integrity. The visible wear only enhances its vintage authenticity, speaking to decades of use and preservation. We are pleased to include a one-year additional warranty for added peace of mind. The Angelus Triple Date Chronodato is a landmark piece for any collector interested in vintage chronographs with pioneering complications and mid-century design.
