The Czapek Antarctique Plique-à-Jour is a technically sophisticated piece that exemplifies the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern horology. Its dial is crafted using the ancient plique-à-jour enamelling technique, which involves applying colored enamel into open metal cells without a backing and firing it at approximately 900°C. This process results in a translucent, stained-glass-like effect that reveals the skeletonized movement beneath.

The enamel work, executed by Bagues-Masriera, achieves complete transparency and subtle color gradients, a feat rarely accomplished due to the complexity and fragility of the material. The watch is powered by the Czapek Calibre SXH7, a skeletonized automatic movement with a recycled platinum micro-rotor, operating at 4 Hz and offering a 60-hour power reserve. It features hand-finished details such as inward angles, chamfered edges, and rhodium-plated bridges. Encased in a sport-chic stainless steel Antarctique case with an integrated bracelet, the watch combines brushed and polished surfaces for dynamic light play. Limited to just ten pieces, each watch is subtly unique and engraved with Czapek’s 10-year anniversary logo, marking a decade of independent watchmaking excellence.
