Promenade L’Écume des Jours

The Czapek Promenade L’Écume des Jours is a limited-edition timepiece of 18 pieces, presented in a 38 mm stainless steel case with a height of 10.8 mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 42 mm. Its layered dial combines a Goutte d’Eau blue enamel base with a mother-of-pearl ring featuring hand-painted piano-key details and a laser-worked jade seconds track, complemented by a laser-cut titanium water lily seconds hand finished in miniature painting.

Inspired by Boris Vian’s novel L’Écume des Jours, the watch is powered by Czapek’s in-house automatic Calibre SXH5.1, featuring a micro-rotor in recycled 950 platinum, small seconds at 4:30, a variable-inertia balance with four gold inertia-blocks and a 60-hour power reserve. The movement comprises 127 components and 26 jewels, operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph), and is finished with open-worked ratchets, sandblasted black bridges, bevelled angles and straight-grained sides.

The watch is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal and sapphire caseback, both treated with anti-reflective coating, and offers 50 metres of water resistance. It is delivered on a dark blue nubuck leather strap, with a stainless steel Milanese mesh bracelet available as an alternative.
