The Hulsman Easy Perpetual is a masterclass in independent watchmaking, a timepiece that merges emotional craftsmanship with technical sophistication. Featuring an entirely in-house perpetual calendar movement, it is a tribute to persistence and innovation, executed with restraint and precision.
Measuring 39mm × 9.5mm, the Easy Perpetual fits elegantly on a 19mm strap and introduces an unconventional feature set within a familiar dress watch form. The case, with its signature open lugs, is offered in white, yellow, or rose gold, and can be paired with highly customisable dials, from meteorite, guilloché, or stone, to semi-transparent smoked glass revealing the finely finished mechanics beneath. The perpetual calendar complication is both clever and minimal: the date hand elegantly jumps over two dial prisms at 2 and 4 o’clock to preserve their visibility. Most impressively, no pushers or correctors are used, allowing for a world-first: side-mounted prisms** that display the day and month, leaving the case flanks visually active and functionally useful.
The reverse side houses the leap year and additional calendar displays, while the dial features a day-night indicator** in aventurine and a winding indicator. With 90+ hours of power reserve, winding is infrequent, yet thoughtfully integrated. A distinctive touch: the minute hand reads both outer and inner tracks, interacting with the architecture near the prisms. The movement beats at 21,600 bph, boasting a free-sprung balance that appears to float just 0.15mm below a sapphire bridge. Finishing is exceptional: anglage, circular graining, mirror-polished pinions, and blued-steel components like the triangular pallet fork and escape wheel, all designed for visual clarity and mechanical efficiency. The reversed crown stem system offers both strength and reliability, with added safety features to protect the movement. The bridges are richly finished in options like white or black rhodium, gold, and various textures from perlage to black polish, with many components crafted by the renowned team at Philippe Narbel.
Limited to just 12 pieces, the Easy Perpetual is more than a watch; it’s an experience. Subscribers are invited into the creation process, even crafting a part of their own timepiece. This intimate, collaborative approach defines the spirit of Hulsman Timepieces: emotional horology with mechanical integrity.
