Boasting a captivating dial of vibrant purple the Perception Millésimmé ‘睦 (Mù)’ Edition by Atelier Wen is the first in a new series of community driven limited production watches by the young independent watch company, which will be released on an annual basis across a specified window of opportunity, to reward its loyal customers and avoid the disappointment of missing out on a capped limited edition, which had happened in the past.
Presented in a 40mm x 9.4mm case of Grade 5 titanium, the Perception Millésime’睦 (Mù)’ Edition once again features the work of China’s only Master Craftsman in the art of traditional guillochage Cheng Yuchai, and his delicate écaille de poisson decoration catches the light to spectacular effect, with the colour appearing to shift between deep purple and ultraviolet, depending on the ambient lighting. The effect is further accentuated by the application of luminous material on the chapter ring as well the hour and minute hands, making it stand out in low light environs.
The Millésime ‘睦 (Mù)’ Edition is fitted to an integrated titanium link bracelet with folding clasp, and for the first 88 customers, will also be supplied with a leather strap which is exclusive to this edition, and which cannot be purchased separately. Additionally, three randomly selected customers will receive one of three prototype pieces manufactured in tantalum, an exotic and notoriously challenging metal to work with.
The watch is powered by the Dandong SL1588A automatic movement, which is manufactured in China and boasts a power reserve of 41 hours, while operating at a brisk 28,800 vib/h. A crescent-shaped sapphire window on the caseback offers a view of the balance and purple tungsten oscillating weight inside.
