The Place Vendôme Complicité Glacier Blue is a limited edition of 10 pieces that showcases Czapek’s collaborative approach to independent watchmaking, developed alongside renowned master watchmaker Bernhard Lederer. Housed in a Pt950 platinum case, the watch features a light blue PVD-treated and grainé-finished main plate, complemented by faceted mirror-polished rhodium-plated indexes and partially skeletonised sword hands.
At the heart of the watch is an advanced regulating system built around two independent balance wheels, each operating with its own escapement and oscillating in opposite directions. A differential mechanism positioned at 12 o’clock continuously averages any rate variations between the two regulators, enhancing chronometric stability. The entire architecture is displayed dial-side, revealing the dynamic interaction between the twin oscillators.
The manually wound Calibre 8 consists of 293 components and incorporates the double escapement system, differential gearing and central seconds indication. It provides a 72-hour power reserve, displayed between the two balances. Each variable-inertia balance wheel features four adjustment screws and four regulating weights, while their Breguet overcoils are individually tuned to function in concert as a synchronised regulating pair.
The movement architecture is enhanced by two sapphire bridges carrying six rubies set in gold chatons, providing an unobstructed view of the gear train. On the reverse, the movement demonstrates traditional haute horlogerie finishing, including 18 hand-chamfered inward angles and hand-bevelled bridges and main plate, reflecting the highest standards of independent Swiss watchmaking.
