The Quai des Bergues “Midnight in Geneva” marks the inauguration of Czapek’s new Geneva flagship with a refined interpretation of one of the brand’s most emblematic models. Presented in a newly introduced 40.5mm stainless steel case, it retains the signature architecture of the Quai des Bergues collection, including its curved profile, sculpted lugs and sapphire display back. The case has been subtly re-engineered, with revised side recesses and optimised lug geometry to improve ergonomics across a wider range of wrist sizes.
Its defining feature is a deep blue aventurine glass dial, appearing in this diameter for the first time. The construction is particularly complex due to the recessed small-seconds and power reserve displays. Rather than machining cavities into the fragile aventurine surface, Czapek cuts completely through the dial and mounts the subsidiary displays onto an underlying metal base plate measuring just 0.4mm in thickness. This demanding technique preserves the integrity of the aventurine while creating visual depth and dimensionality.
Powering the watch is the proprietary, hand-wound Calibre SXH1, offering a seven-day power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement combines traditional haute horlogerie finishing with practical long-duration autonomy. Production is limited to 18 pieces, echoing the address of the Maison’s first modern Geneva boutique at Rue de la Corraterie 18.
