Featuring hands that rotate counterclockwise, the Raketa Russian Code 0302 watch honours the natural motion of our planet around the sun. Housed in a complex 39.5mm steel case, the model has a beautiful multi-layered dial, enhanced with a constellation motif at its centre. Powered by the precision in-house Raketa 2615CR automatic movement, which is specifically engineered to enable the inverted arrangement of the hands, this handsome edition is presented on a leather strap with a quick change mechanism.

Established in 1721, in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, the massive production facility which today is known as the Raketa Manufacture is the oldest factory in the country. With a name that translates as ‘Rocket’, Raketa have experienced a stellar rise in popularity with watch collectors around the world, who have discovered the unique collections of this exciting independent maker. Inspired by the clockwise motion of our planet around the sun, the Raketa Russia Code 0302 watch features a revolutionary movement enabling the hands to revolve around the dial in a counterclockwise arrangement.

The Raketa Russian Code 0302 watch resides in a new casing, manufactured from stainless steel, and sized at 39.5mm across. Its profile is enhanced with satin-brushed finishing and with polishing defining the faceted edges, while the crown is decorated with the company’s logo which reveals the warmth of the synthetic ruby enclosed within it.

A recessed section in the centre of the dial displays the constellations as seen in the skies over St. Petersburg on the morning of April 12th 1961 when Yuri Gagarin made his historical space flight. Evoking depth, the flange is slightly raised, and the numerals, which are finished in alternating light and dark rhodium plating, add further interest. Unconventional and highly innovative, the centrally mounted hands rotate counterclockwise thus following the movement of planet Earth around its sun. And, while the hour and minutes hands are straight in form with recessed middles, the seconds hand ends in a vivid red openworked circle which instantly draws the eye.

The revolutionary movement of the hands demanded a complete redesign of the mainspring barrel and anchor module of the Raketa 2615R calibre, however with all the components produced by Raketa, this innovation was designed and constructed entirely in-house. Running at 18’000 vib/h the automatic movement has a power reserve of 40 hours, and its decoration can be admired through the sapphire caseback.

A beautifully styled timepiece that is notable for its unconventional time indication, the Raketa Russian Code 0302 watch comes presented on a red-lined black leather strap secured with a pin buckle.
