ANDERSEN/CHAYKIN JOKER AUTOMATON
?>The Andersen Genève x Konstantin Chaykin Automaton Joker is a rare haute horlogerie collaboration, produced in a limited edition of just 20 pieces in white gold and created by independent master watchmakers Svend Andersen and Konstantin Chaykin. Presented in a 42.0mm round 18k white gold case with a thickness of 16.8mm, it is fitted with sapphire crystals and offers water resistance to 30 metres.
With a front dial featuring the unmistakable Joker display, with silver guilloché finishing, coloured blue and red accents, rotating eye discs indicating the hours and minutes, and a moon phase aperture forming the smiling mouth. There are no traditional central hands or conventional hour markers, giving the watch its distinctive animated character. The rear display, visible through the sapphire caseback, reveals Andersen Genève’s celebrated poker-scene automaton, with hand-cut, polished and painted elements brought to life by a pusher at 8 o’clock, animating for around two minutes.
Powering the watch is a modified historic Swiss manual-winding movement, upgraded for both the Joker time display and the rear automaton. The calibre name and component count are not publicly disclosed, but published specifications note a power reserve of approximately 36 to 38 hours and a frequency of 18,000 vph. Functions include hours, minutes, moon phase and automaton. It is fitted to a leather strap with pin buckle.
This particular example is pre-owned and presented in mint condition. It comes complete with its original box, papers and warranty dated September 2020, and will be supplied with a one-year TLE warranty for added peace of mind.
