The Konstantin Chaykin Wristmon Matroskin is a playful yet technically sophisticated independent watch created in collaboration with the legendary Soyuzmultfilm animation studio. Limited to just 90 pieces, the Matroskin combines the signature Wristmon display with exceptional haute horlogerie finishing and a highly expressive feline-inspired design

QTY :

Created by renowned independent watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin, the Wristmon Matroskin transforms one of the most recognisable animated characters in Russian culture into a highly original mechanical wristwatch. Produced in collaboration with the Soyuzmultfilm animation studio to celebrate its 90th anniversary, the watch forms part of Chaykin’s celebrated Wristmon collection and is limited to just 90 pieces worldwide.

The character-driven concept is executed with remarkable technical and artistic depth. The signature Joker-indication module is perfectly suited to the feline-inspired display, with rotating hour and minute discs forming expressive green eyes while the moonphase display becomes the smiling mouth of Matroskin himself.

The attention to detail throughout the watch is extraordinary. For the first time within the Wristmons collection, the guilloché decoration extends beyond the dial and onto the bezel itself, forming stylised “whiskers” that enhance the character-driven design. The upper lugs are shaped as cat ears, while the striped leather strap references Matroskin’s iconic appearance from the animated films.

Beneath the playful exterior lies serious mechanical substance. Powering the watch is the Konstantin Chaykin K.18-27 automatic calibre featuring the manufacture’s latest Joker-indication module architecture. Based upon the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G200 movement, the calibre has been extensively modified and finished by the Konstantin Chaykin Manufacture.

The movement finishing adheres to traditional haute horlogerie standards throughout. Bridges and plates feature perlage, circular graining and Geneva striping, while bevels, screw recesses and component edges are all hand-finished and polished.

Particular attention has been devoted to the dial construction itself. Comprised of 15 individual components, the dial receives ruthenium galvanic treatment, multilayer lacquer application and precision pad printing processes requiring approximately 20 hours for a single eye component alone. Up to 25 layers of lacquer are applied to achieve the remarkable depth and gloss visible across the display.

Measuring 40mm in stainless steel, the Wristmon Matroskin balances playful creativity with genuine mechanical credibility, reinforcing Konstantin Chaykin’s position as one of the most original voices in contemporary independent watchmaking.
