Bringing a dramatic pop of colour to the wrist, the Arcanaut Arc II Fordite Bruce Revolutions watch features a sensational unique dial by experimental artisan James Thompson. This one of a kind timepiece is presented in a beautifully constructed 40.52mm cushion shaped stainless steel case, enhanced with micro-blasted and polished hand finishing. Fitted with the signature Arcanaut ‘Pentablock’ crown, the housing is water resistant to 100m and has a decorated solid caseback. The visual highlight of the watch is its mesmerising Fordite dial surface, created using the waste overspray of car paint derived from factories in Detroit, America’s heartland of the automobile industry. Widely acclaimed for his experimental wizardry, James Thompson has taken the material, which was sourced directly from paint bays during the 70s, 80s and 90s, and has refined and transformed it to create an extraordinary surface of that is not only aesthetically stunning, but which also has a historically significant provenance. The dial is complemented by openworked steel hands with lume coated tips, and bereft of numerals and branding, the vibrant tones of the ‘Bruce Revolutions’ motif can be fully appreciated. The model enjoys the advantage of a Swiss-made Soprod A10 automatic movement with power reserve of 42 hours, and it wears on an integrated rubber strap.
