Interstellar Travel

Inspired by the image of a spacecraft orbiting Earth, the Behrens Interstellar Travel transforms conventional timekeeping into a distinctly mechanical and architectural display. Cyberpunk-influenced detailing and ice-blue luminescence reinforce its futuristic character, while an unconventional rotating mechanism places the hours and minutes at opposite ends of the spacecraft-inspired structure.

Time is indicated through two sapphire crystal discs integrated within the metal framework. Rotation of both the complete frame and individual sapphire discs aligns the numerals with precisely positioned apertures, creating an animated display unlike a traditional set of hands. Ice-blue luminous material beneath each display provides strong nighttime legibility and further accentuates the watch’s technical aesthetic.

Measuring 42mm in diameter, the case is constructed from 316L stainless steel and fitted with a sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated to 5 bar, while a crocodile leather strap and stainless-steel clasp complete the design. Power comes from the automatic Miyota 9015 base movement, adapted to drive Behrens’ distinctive hours, minutes and date indications.

Introduced in 2019 under reference BHR012B, the Interstellar Travel also received the Silver Award at the 5th China Watch Design Competition, highlighting the originality of its mechanical display and space-inspired execution
