A modernist reinterpretation of time, the Waltz Nº1 Hoffmann Edition translates Viennese design principles into mechanical form, combining ultra-thin watchmaking with architectural precision.

QTY :

The Carl Suchy & Söhne Waltz Nº1 Hoffmann Edition is not built around decoration. It is built around structure. Inspired by the work of Josef Hoffmann and Viennese Modernism, the watch reduces timekeeping to a disciplined system of geometry, where every element is part of a larger architectural composition.

The dial is defined by a series of concentric lines, forming a precise grid rather than a traditional layout. The numerals are not applied but integrated directly into this structure, emerging from the design itself rather than sitting on top of it. At six o’clock, the signature “Waltzing Disc” completes a full rotation every minute, introducing motion without disrupting the overall symmetry.

This same design philosophy extends into the movement. The ultra-thin CSS-A1 calibre, developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, mirrors the geometry of the dial through its skeletonised bridges and open architecture. At just 2.6mm in height, the movement is both technically refined and visually aligned with the watch’s core concept of mechanical order.

A decentralised micro-rotor, gold-plated and mounted on ceramic bearings, provides automatic winding while maintaining the slim profile. The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers a 48-hour power reserve, balancing performance with elegance.

Housed in a 41.5mm stainless steel case, the watch remains refined and wearable, with a slim 9.3mm profile. The overall execution is deliberate and controlled, with finishing techniques such as perlage, hand-bevelled edges, and NAC-coated bridges reinforcing the architectural clarity of the piece.

This is not a watch designed to follow trends. It is a watch built on a clear design ideology, where mechanics and form operate as one.
