Chief Tourbillon

A technically masterful flagship piece which is limited to only 25 pieces, the Favre Leuba Chief Tourbillon watch combines elegant vintage inspired nuances with horological flair. Working with Jean-François Mojon, Favre Leuba have developed a superb showcase piece featuring the brand’s first tourbillon movement, the manual winding FLT01. Operating at a frequency of 3Hz, with a 60 hour power reserve, the calibre is displayed through the rear sapphire crystal where one can appreciate the striking contrast of the blued screws upon the contemporary anthracite finish, the emblematic hour glass decoration on the ratchet wheel, and the immaculate Côtes de Genève finishing on the mainplate.

The 41mm stainless steel case has a height of only 11.45mm and is finished with a blend of brushed and polished techniques that accentuate its softened square form. On the dial, the distinctive Favre Leuba hour glass or ‘Sablier’ motif forms an intricate artwork that decorates the entire surface with its contrasting sunburst and matte triangles giving it a three-dimensional aspect, and this is complemented by faceted indices and hands with each element lumed to emit vivid blue in poor light conditions. The tourbillon, the visual and technical highlight of this exclusive piece, takes up position on the lower dial. At 14.85mm diameter, the generous proportions of its cage enable a full appreciation of the pair of hand finished bridges, with horizontal brushing on the upper level complemented by circular graining on the outer edge that holds the track for the flamed blued seconds hand.

An exceptional example that heralds a new era for Favre Leuba within the Haute Horlogerie genre, the Chief Tourbillon wears on a beautifully crafted three-link steel bracelet, finished with vertical brushing and polished centre links.
