Venus Zodiac
?>A mechanical planetarium on the wrist, tracking the real-time motion of Venus, Earth, and the Moon against a zodiac sky.
The Christiaan van der Klaauw Venus Zodiac is not a traditional complication. It is a working model of the solar system.
At its core is a planetarium display made up of multiple rotating discs, tracking the real-time position of Venus and Earth around the Sun, alongside the orbit of the Moon around Earth.
The dial becomes the stage. Executed in deep blue aventurine, it reflects the night sky while carrying the zodiac ring, showing the position of the sun across the astrological calendar. Each transition between signs aligns with the actual movement of the Earth through the year.
The moonphase display is integrated into this system, showing the relationship between the Sun, Earth, and Moon. This is not a standard moonphase. It reflects the actual astronomical positioning, creating a more accurate and dynamic representation.
Powering this is the CKM-01 calibre, developed with a dedicated Venus module introduced in 2024. The movement is visible through the caseback, where star-shaped bridges and a skeletonised rotor reinforce the astronomical theme.
Housed in a 38mm case, the watch remains wearable despite its complexity, balancing technical depth with classical proportions.
This is not about telling time.
It is about understanding it.
