Series 1 Levante

Created by emerging independent watchmaker Ivan Berets on the shores of Lake Garda, the Series 1 Levante demonstrates an impressive balance of design maturity, mechanical understanding and artisanal execution. Evolved from a prototype first conceived during his watchmaking studies, the Levante combines architectural minimalism with traditional hand-finishing and thoughtful mechanical refinement.

The watch is housed within a beautifully proportioned rectangular stainless steel case measuring 30mm wide, 34mm in length and only 6.3mm thick. Slim and elegant on the wrist, the Levante maintains a strong visual identity through its sharp geometry, brushed surfaces and polished bevelled accents. The unusual placement of the crown between the upper lugs at twelve o’clock further reinforces the uninterrupted symmetry of the case design.

Beneath the flat sapphire crystal sits a rose gold-plated dial available in either gratté or frosted finishes. The textured surface creates a rich and restrained backdrop for the applied brushed steel chapter ring positioned centrally within the display. Flame-treated blue hands provide a striking visual contrast against the warmth of the dial, echoed by the matching blue screw heads that introduce subtle architectural detail to the otherwise minimalist composition.

Turning the watch over reveals the depth of Berets’ watchmaking ability. While based on the renowned Peseux 7001 calibre, the movement has been extensively re-engineered in-house, with structural and mechanical components remanufactured to suit the rectangular architecture of the watch. Berets has also introduced his own balance bridge design, further distinguishing the calibre from its origins.

Executed with frosted palladium-finished bridges and mainplate, the movement features broad Geneva stripes, sharply defined anglage and impressive architectural symmetry throughout. Fully wound, the calibre delivers approximately 45 hours of power reserve while operating at a traditional 21,600 vibrations per hour.

Limited to only twenty numbered examples, the Series 1 Levante represents a remarkably confident and distinctive debut from a young independent watchmaker already displaying a clear creative identity and highly disciplined finishing standards.
