A limited release of only 99 pieces, the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Lapis Lazuli demonstrates quintessential dress watch aesthetics, but with a resolutely contemporary twist. The character of the watch is elevated by a captivating dial which is crafted from a sliver of lapis lazuli, whose midnight blue tones and tiny golden flecks provide an exquisite backdrop for the indications.

From the centre, the rhodium-plated hour and minutes hands are of the company’s distinctive fir-tree shape, and they taper towards slender applied hour numerals and markers which seemingly float above the natural stone surface. In contrast, the small seconds dial at the 6 o’clock location, has been rendered in silver-coloured opaline with a concentric snailing motif and it carries diminutive anthracite markers and a petite cross-hairs.

The case of the Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Lapis Lazuli is manufactured in stainless steel, sized at 39mm across, with a height of 12.25mm and is topped with a gently domed sapphire crystal. Enhanced with a polished finish, the rounded form of the casing is classical, and with a neatly tucked in crown, curving lugs and a trim bezel, it carries perfect proportions.

Inside, and viewable through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, the élaboré grade Swiss mechanical Sellita SW261-1 self-winding movement features a semi-skeletonised Louis Erard oscillating weight, and it boasts a power reserve of thirty-eight hours, beating at a brisk 28’800 vib/h.

Each model in this 99 piece limited edition comes presented on a deep blue calfskin strap, complemented by matching stitching at its attachment points and secured with a polished stainless steel pin buckle. This particular timepiece is pre-owned and presented in mint condition, complete with its box, papers and warranty dated January 2023, and will also come with an additional one-year warranty for added peace of mind.
