Launched in 2005 and delivered through EMBASSY until the final sale in April 2020, the MIH Mechanik2 is built around a clear idea: reduce everything to essentials without losing the usefulness of a real calendar. Conceived by Ludwig Oechslin and shaped by industrial designer Christian Gafner, it pairs functional minimalism with an ingenious mechanical solution.

At its core is Oechslin’s annual calendar, engineered with only nine moving parts instead of the 30-40 typically required. The calendar information is displayed through a single, highly legible window and driven by three concentric discs, all reliably powered by the ETA Valjoux 7750, chosen specifically for its ability to move the discs in a coordinated, robust way. The result is a complication that feels technically sophisticated yet operationally simple, with an emphasis on clarity, reliability, and everyday practicality.

Although production and sales have ended, service and maintenance support continue through EMBASSY to the established standard, reinforcing the long-term wearability of the model.
