At a glance, one can discern that from every angle that the Hautlence Moebius 01 watch has been created to reveal the essence of Haute Horlogerie.

The piece has been endowed with a tactile, sapphire crystal which curves around its façade, offering up a superb exposé.  On the sides, more sapphire, this time with a honeycomb detail, gives this piece added technical appeal.

For this edition, a resplendent 18-carat red gold frame engenders a luxurious aesthetic to the mix, and with the crown placed on top at the 12 o’clock, nothing detracts from the purity of its profile.

Beneath the sapphire, an all-encompassing view awaits.  At the centre of the sapphire dial, and resting beneath a logo-enhanced hub, a generous horseshoe fomed arc for the retrograde minutes takes up position.

Indicated by a rhodium-plated hand with a Super LumiNova® tip to aid readability, its motion along the arc is gentle.  Then, when it reaches the 60-second mark, the central hub takes on a new, vibrant characteristic, completing an astounding 48 high-speed rotations.  These revolutions ensure precise transitions of the 12-link chain which enables the hour display, on the left-hand side.

Providing an unusual, visual transition of the hours, the Hautlence chain-driven hour display has been engineered to ensure a hypnotic view, as each individual pallet on the twelve-link track advances at a satisfyingly slow pace.

Adding to this panorama, at the 6 o’clock location, the exquisite pirouette of a Bi-axial Tourbillon is a compelling feature which bears witness to the Haute Horlogerie credentials of this Hautlence Moebius 01 model.  Elsewhere, a power reserve display, on the right side of the retrograde, keeps check on the 40 hour reserve via a red-tipped indicator.

Turn over the 52mm x 50mm case and the reverse side of the mechanical wizardry of the in-house Hautlence Calibre is revealed.  Here, one can appreciate a combination of hand-finished, satin-brushed and hand-bevelled components which contrast superbly with mirror-polished steel elements.

Beating at 21,600vph, the movement has two barrels sending power to the time and complications separately, so that no loss of time-keeping accuracy occurs.   And, in a final flourish of opulence, the pristine, inscribed oscillating rotor has been constructed from 18-carat white gold.
