World Time Double Tourbillon

The Arnold & Son World Time Double Tourbillon White Gold is an exceptional one-off creation, distinguished by a dial crafted from rare Baltic amber, also known as tiger amber. Limited to a single unique piece, it combines the manufacture’s dual time-zone expertise with a highly unusual natural material whose warm, moiré yellow tones create a softer contrast against the 18k white gold case, white opal subdials, and sculptural tourbillon architecture.

Housed in a 43.5mm 18k white gold case, the watch features a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, a sapphire display back, and water resistance to 30 metres. The dial layout is centred around two independent time displays, one for local hours and minutes with Roman numerals, and the other for reference hours and minutes with Arabic numerals. This arrangement is powered by the hand-finished Arnold & Son calibre A&S8513, a manually wound movement measuring 37.30mm in diameter and 8.35mm thick, fitted with 42 jewels, running at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and delivering an impressive 90-hour power reserve.

A key technical highlight is its twin-tourbillon construction, each tourbillon mounted beneath an 18k white gold skeletonised cantilevered bridge. The movement is built with two barrels, two crowns, and two separate gear trains, allowing the watch to display either identical times, two completely different time zones, or even unusual offsets of 15, 30, or 45 minutes, something rarely seen in traditional travel watches.

The movement finishing is of particularly high quality, with radiating Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, double-snailed barrels, sunray-brushed crown wheels, polished gold chatons, and meticulously bevelled, satin-finished, and mirror-polished white gold tourbillon bridges. Completing the piece is a jungle-green alligator leather strap with papaya-yellow lining and an 18k white gold folding clasp.
