Black Ember

Presented in celebration of the tenth anniversary of The Limited Edition, the Ophion Black Ember watch features a beautifully rendered dial of deep black, enlivened by the warm hues of pink gold. Established in 2014, Ophion combine state of the art manufacturing processes with traditional watchmaking skills to create contemporary timepieces infused with retro and classical styling. A natural fit for the portfolio of The Limited Edition, Ophion watches are crafted in small series and manufactured with a meritorious level of attention to detail, accentuated with subtle elements of in-house hand finishing. Beneath a domed sapphire crystal which features anti-reflective coating on both sides, the dial is fully appreciable regardless of the angle of view. Subtle texturing enhances its deep black surface while pink gold-toned elements provide a striking contrast against the dark background and add a visual intensity to the display.

 As with all Ophion watches, the detailing is superb. A pink gold toned laser cut chapter ring defines the central section, and this theme is further enhanced by pink gold Breguet style arabic numerals which are individually applied, adding depth to the arrangement. The hour and minute hands are also manufactured in the same pink gold finish, and receive no less attention. The hour indicator features the distinctive Vélos skeletonised arrow tip, while the slender minute hand curves downwards at its tip where it meets the chapter ring, and these are complemented by an incredibly fine counter-weighted seconds hand which spans outwards to the perimeter of the dial.
