An excellent example of contemporary Haute Horlogerie, the Tempograph Spirit Titanium watch by Louis Moinet features an elaborate, multi part and openworked dial, which exposes the components of its Manufacture mechanical movement and the mechanisms of the company’s 20 seconds retrograde complication. Limited to 60 pieces, the avant-garde character of this model is visually enhanced by the rendering of vivid colour tones on its dial aspect.

The watch resides in a 40.7mm casing of grade 5 titanium, which has received a combination of polished and satin finishing. The lugs have articulated unions and have been generously openworked, while a sleek guard surrounds the crown. It is fitted with a box sapphire crystal which enhances the three dimensional perspective of the dial layout.

Off-set at the five o’clock position, the hours and minutes are indicated on a dial with a bright blue toned finish, complemented by vivid blue at the perimeter of the face, and via faceted hands, arabic numerals and applied polished markers.

Uniquely, the Tempograph Spirit features not one, but two separate seconds indications, which break the minute down into three twenty-second segments. At the nine o’clock location, a constantly rotating small seconds wheel is segmented into red, blue and black, and it goes around once per minute. However, the most eye-catching feature upon this fascinating façade is the central vivid red hand of the retrograde seconds, which sweeps across the marked black arc at the two o’clock, before flicking back every twenty seconds and starting over again, three times every minute.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the Louis Moinet Manufacture self winding LM85 movement features meticulous circular Côtes de Genève, diamond-polished recesses, circular satin-brushed gears and Clous de Paris and Fleur de Lys decoration on its bi-metallic rotor. Beating at 28’800 vib/h (4Hz), the calibre has a power reserve of 48 hours. Notably the movement fully integrates the retrograde seconds complication thus dispelling with the requirement for a modular construction.

This exclusive 60 piece Louis Moinet Tempograph Spirit Titanium edition comes presented on a black alligator leather strap, secured with a folding clasp in grade 5 titanium.
