TIME TO RACE FLASH

The Louis Moinet TIME TO RACE FLASH is a motorsport-themed, high-contrast monopusher chronograph built around a dial-side column-wheel display and a dramatic sapphire “dome” crystal that showcases the chronograph mechanism from the front. Offered as exclusive unique pieces with the owner selecting a “Lucky Number”, FLASH is produced in two material editions: grade 5 titanium or 18 ct red gold, both with polished and satin-finished surfaces. The case measures 40.7 mm in diameter and 17.92 mm thick, uses a box-type sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflective coating, and is rated to 50 metres water resistance. The single pusher features Clous de Paris decoration, reinforcing the instrument-like intent.

The dial architecture prioritises depth and legibility through layered materials and contrasting finishes. A black background with polished white numerals centres the Lucky Number concept, while smoked sapphire counters with white luminescent decals add transparency and dimensionality. The outer ring carries a golden-tone circular satin finish, and the flange combines a tachymeter with a 60-second scale using white luminous transfers and a bi-material circular satin finish. Hands are purposefully differentiated: gold-tone hour and minute hands, with chronograph seconds and counter hands finished in black PVD with satin finish and coloured Super-LumiNova for rapid reading under variable light.

Powering the watch is the automatic Louis Moinet calibre LM96, a 4 Hz (28,800 vph) movement with 311 components, 30 jewels, and a 48-hour power reserve. It delivers hours, minutes, seconds, plus a 60-second chronograph with 30-minute counters, controlled by a column wheel and operated via a monopusher for crisp, sequential actuation. The oscillating weight is engineered for stability and visual identity, using a bi-material construction, six ball bearings, skeletonisation, and fleur-de-lys decoration. On-wrist, the preformed rubber strap and triple-folding steel clasp with black PVD, fine adjustment, and a curved fleur-de-lys element complete a package that leans hard into performance-led ergonomics and mechanical theatre.
