Offering its wearer the opportunity for an exclusive, uniquely personalised sports timekeeper, the Time To Race Orange Papaya watch by Louis Moinet boasts handsome aesthetics enlivened by über cool race-inspired detailing. Exhibiting vibrant colour tones and a visually stunning dial side exposé of the intricate mechanisms of the chronograph, the watch reaffirms Louis Moinet’s mastery of the complication and the company’s commitment its legacy in their portfolio.

Beautifully crafted as an ode to the golden age of motor racing, the Time To Race Orange Papaya watch is characterised by the iconic racing colours of bright orange and blue. Exhibiting a truly bespoke aesthetic, this special Louis Moinet edition gives the wearer the opportunity to personalise their piece with a one or two-digit “lucky number” which will be rendered on the dial of their watch, thus ensuring that every model made will be a one-of-a-kind piece.

The Louis Moinet Time To Race Orange Papaya carries a newly designed case sized at 40.7mm. Manufactured from Grade 5 titanium, its rounded form has been enhanced with polished and satin-brushed finishing. The profile of the housing is characterised by contemporary nuances, with a robust crown base featuring visible screws, and openworked lugs which seamlessly integrate the strap and the case ensuring comfort on the wrist.

At the two o’clock position, the single pusher has a satisfying presence while the aesthetic appeal of the watch is further enhanced by a generous box sapphire crystal which curves and flows over the trim bezel onto the case side.

At the perimeter of the dial of the Time To Race Orange Papaya by Louis Moinet, the ingenious curved double-reading flange enables dual reading of the tachymeter and the chronograph seconds. Featuring a bi-material construction it is rendered in blue, with its first quarter highlighted in orange, and it immediately catches the eye. At the six o’clock position, the off-centred dial for the hours and minutes bears the wearer’s number of choice, painted in vivid blue on a glossy white background. Bereft of numerals, it underscores the race-inspired styling codes of the piece with a metal ring surround which recalls the bores used in racing cars.

The constant running seconds and the thirty minute chronograph counter at the nine and three o’clock respectively are displayed on sapphire rings enabling an unrestricted and mesmerising view of the mechanisms surrounding them. Just beneath, is the fascinating panorama of the fully exposed chronograph components assembled upon a woven carbon fibre textured mainplate. Orange hands and white markings ensure readability of the indications, while the slender central chronograph hand, also tipped in orange, is elongated so that it reaches out and curves to where the glass dome envelopes the case. Operated via the single mono pusher, the distinctive column wheel, the defining feature of the contemporary chronograph, is directly below the twelve and it serves as a command centre to the levers which activate the complication. Adding to the technical effect, the gears and wheels of the going train are also visible.

Powering the impressive Time To Race Orange Papaya is the automatic winding Louis Moinet Manufacture LM96 movement. With côtes de Genève and polished edges on the underside to complement the straight grained and circular satin finishing and chamfering on the upper side, the calibre has been meticulously finished throughout. Beating at 28’800 vib/h (4Hz), the movement is endowed with a rotor decorated with Clous de Paris and Fleur de Lys patterns, and it runs on a power reserve of 48 hours.

The Time To Race Orange Papaya watch by Louis Moinet comes presented on an orange rubber strap secured to the wrist with a triple-blade folding clasp in black PVD coated steel. Each model is a unique piece made to the requirements of the individual client.
