Louis Moinet Starman White Gold

Affirming their commitment to horological mastery and their fascination with celestial compositions, Louis Moinet present their Starman White Gold watch, limited to only 12 pieces. The dial of the watch has a complex multi-part arrangement, with its base cut from a sliver of Gibeon meteorite, with the unique Widmanstätten patterning of the material enhanced by an intricate, secretive process that gives it a vivid deep blue tone. Overlaid onto the precious meteorite, a sapphire disc is rendered with lines of latitude and longitude, and with hand painted constellations which add to the drama. At the upper, a rare sample of Jbilet Winselwan meteorite displays a unique brown speckled texture and is rimmed with gold, while providing equipoise, the flying tourbillon adds animation to the architecture. The ethereal composition is incredibly compelling by day, however after dark it takes on an otherworldly appearance as the lume enhanced constellations, hour numerals, and the skeletonised and faceted white gold hands emit a mystical blue glow.

Inside the 47.4mm 18ct white gold case, and beating at 28’800 vib/h, the Manufacture Flying Tourbillon  manual winding calibre derives an impressive reserve of power of 96 hours from twin barrels, which are engineered to release their energy simultaneously though a ‘volte-face’ arrangement wherein the barrels are place upside-down in series. On to the sapphire caseback, Louis Moinet have paid a stunning tribute to the founding father of the company with a hand painted artwork depicting an exact recreation of the position of the solar system as it appeared during March 21st 2013, the date of the confirmation of Louis Moinet as the inventor of the chronograph. The meticulous artwork is accompanied by a grid through which the mechanisms of the calibre are revealed, adding an illusory aspect with the planets seemingly elevated above the movement of the watch. The exceptional Starman white gold watch by Louis Moinet will be an exclusive release of only 12 pieces.
