An enduring classic from the Girard-Perregaux maison, the Vintage 1945 collection, with its distinctive rectangular shape and tapering lugs owes much to the influences of art deco design, and in its stately presence, with almost column-like features, one can also even make the link to period architecture too.

Combining two of the brand’s signature features, and positioned at the very pinnacle of the Vintage 1945 collection, our Tourbillon with Three Golden Bridges in its polished pink gold case is both a visually and technically spectacular piece.

Despite being defined by what appear to be straight lines, the Vintage 1945 has undergone an extensive design revision. It’s now a beautifully curvaceous watch, and in fact there are actually no edges or angles, as throughout, the case is gently curved, featuring a cambered sapphire crystal, and a quite pronounced arcing caseback to ensure an ergonomic and comfortable fit on the wrist.

Beneath the sapphire glass, there are no numerals or other reference markings. Instead the displayed components are showcased in a truly three-dimensional layout. The three bridges have been integral to the Girard-Perregaux brand DNA for well over one hundred years, and against the silver dial plate the immaculately polished bridges stand out as they straddle and secure the vital organs of what is in effect the inverted tourbillon movement. Oversize rubies are central to the balance and the tourbillon itself, and also exposed is the hour and minutes gearwheels beneath the tapering gold hands.

Inside, a self-winding automatic movement relies on a platinum micro rotor for its principal source of energy, and it is secreted away behind the barrel. Boasting a 48 hour power reserve, the movement is hidden behind an inscribed commemorative solid caseback. 

Only 50 numbered examples of this exceptional gent’s wristwatch have been produced. Manufactured in-house, mostly by hand, the meticulous attention to detail is visible in every aspect.
