Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa Chronor

For the collector who is always in search of pure watchmaking excellence it’s difficult to pass over the watches of Parmigiani Fleurier. As one of the most enduring protagonists of the independent sector, this brand has continuously pushed itself in innovation and uncompromising standards of workmanship throughout. Showcasing one of the most technically demanding horological challenges, the magnificent Kalpa Chronor has been created around its own bespoke self winding, integrated chronograph movement, which has been entirely created by hand in its Fleurier workshops.

Presented in an elegant tonneau shaped case of polished rose gold, the Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa Chronor features oval chronograph pushers which follow the contours of the case, and it is cradled by four curvaceous lugs, swooping downwards like gold commas, which are individually soldered to the side. Measuring almost 48.2mm from lug tip to lug tip and 40.7mm across its midpoint, it is distinguished and poised upon the wrist.

Beneath the gently domed sapphire crystal, the black dial is decorated with hand guilloché around a recessed central floor of smooth black opaline. Here a pair of golden subdials with snailed finishing display the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters at the three and nine o’clock positions, with small running seconds at the six, and an arcing window displaying the date at the twelve.

Like the hour indices, the gold hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for excellent legibility in day and night, and once activated, the chronograph seconds hand rotates in a smooth continuous sweep, thanks to the high beat of the 36’000vph

Turned over, a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the spectacular PF365 self winding movement, featuring integrated chronograph, and which has been fully manufactured in house, using 18Kt solid gold. Technically complex and quite beautifully executed throughout, its gold oscillating weight spins above the open worked plates, exposing the heart of the mechanism and the column wheel which operates the chronograph. Functioning at 36’000 vph it is smooth and supremely accurate, with COSC chronometer certification, and boasts some 65 hours of power reserve.

A masterpiece of Haute Horlogerie in every aspect of its manufacture, assembly and finishing, whilst being contemporary and stylish, the award winning Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa Chronor is presented on a brown alligator leather strap by Hermès with folding deployant clasp.
