The Baltic x SpaceOne Seconde Majeure is a collaborative mechanical watch that combines Baltic’s classic casework with a SpaceOne-designed, deconstructed time display driven by an exclusive complication module. Time is read in a decentralised layout using sapphire discs rather than traditional hands: hours are shown at 12 o’clock and minutes at 6 o’clock, aligned by an arrow with a crosshair tip, while a large central seconds hand provides continuous motion.
The watch is built in 904L stainless steel with a 38.5 mm diameter case, 47.5 mm lug-to-lug, 12.3 mm thickness, and 20 mm lug width. Finishing is primarily brushed across the mid-case, lugs, and caseback, contrasted by a polished concave bezel designed to mirror the lug geometry. A single-dome sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating covers the dial. Water resistance is rated to 50 m (5 ATM).
Mechanically, the Seconde Majeure uses the Soprod P024 automatic base movement with 42 hours of power reserve, paired with a jumping-hour complication module developed by Théo Auffret. The jumping-hour mechanism is described as a visible, kinematic architecture using a central control wheel, star wheel and jumper spring to advance the hour disc precisely once per hour.
Two dial executions are offered, Brushed or Charbonné, with the Charbonné finish performed by hand and taking up to three hours, giving each piece unique character. The watch is delivered on an Alcantara strap by Delugs, designed to sit naturally with arched, low-hanging lugs and curved spring bars for improved ergonomics.
