The Ace x Christiaan van der Klaauw stAriadne is a 20-piece limited edition combining full calendar, chronograph, and moonphase complications with a distinctive Amsterdam-inspired fog grey dial and star-shaped indexes. Powered by the CVDK7758 movement and individually numbered
This is not a standard Ariadne. It’s a personalised one.
The stAriadne takes Christiaan van der Klaauw’s astronomical foundation and overlays it with a distinct identity driven by Ace Jewelers. The result is a watch that keeps the technical depth but shifts the visual language.
The dial is the defining feature. Finished in a fog grey frosted texture, it contrasts against deep black sub-dials and hands. The usual Arabic numerals are removed and replaced with star-shaped indexes — a first for the brand and a direct nod to its astronomical roots.
Underneath, the watch remains mechanically serious. The CVDK7758 movement powers a full calendar, moonphase, chronograph, and 24-hour indication. This is not a single-complication piece. It’s a layered one.
Each watch is made to order and individually numbered from 1 to 20, with engraving carried out by master engraver Jochen Benzinger. Buyers also select their preferred calendar language, reinforcing the personalised nature of the piece.
At 40mm, the case keeps proportions wearable, while the complication set ensures this is not a simple daily piece. It sits between collector watch and functional complication.
This is for someone who wants astronomical watchmaking without going fully abstract or experimental.
