Lang & Heyne Hektor Edition II

The dial of the Hektor Edition II is rendered with an immaculate black galvanic finish with an intricate repeating ‘Petticoat’ decoration defining the central portion, and this is complemented by a Petticoat-shaped cut out on the lower portion that provides a glimpse through to the manual winding movement beneath. A grooved chapter ring holds the applied indices, while the lancet shaped hour and minute hands are accompanied by an elongated example for the seconds, with the main elements enhanced with ecru Super-LumiNova.

The watch is presented in a rounded, polished stainless steel case sized at 40mm with a height of 10.95mm, fitted with an flattened onion shaped crown which is neatly tucked within its subtle crown guard. Water resistant to 50m, the case integrates smoothly with the 5 link stainless steel bracelet whose tapering styling ensures a comfortable wear. Through an expansive rear sapphire crystal, the elegant arrangement of the Calibre 33.2-2 movement is displayed. Exhibiting satisfying proportions of 33mm across so that it fills the entirety of the case, the manual winding movement maintains a slender height due to the inclusion of a flying mainspring barrel. Skeletonised finger bridges for the German silver gear train lend an airy structure to the architecture of the calibre, and the matte and the straight brushed finishing techniques employed on the main plate and the smaller bridges contrast beautifully to give the layout a modern aesthetic. Beating at a rate of 21’600 vib/h, the movement has a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound, and notably, the frame parts and train wheels of the Calibre 33.2-2 are manufactured from Arcap, a high-tech material that has non-magnetic properties.
