Inspired by the military aviation instruments of the 1940s, the Graham Chronofighter Vintage Aviator DLC White Limited Edition combines historical pilot’s watch aesthetics with contemporary Swiss mechanical engineering. Produced in a limited edition of just 100 pieces worldwide, reference 2CVAB.W03A presents a distinctive interpretation of Graham’s celebrated Chronofighter collection, characterised by its oversized chronograph trigger, striking luminous dial and robust black DLC‑coated case.
Housed within a substantial 44mm stainless‑steel case, the watch features a matte black Diamond‑Like Carbon (DLC) coating, providing enhanced surface hardness, corrosion resistance and reduced friction. Its dark exterior creates a striking contrast against the off‑white dial, while the characteristic left‑hand crown and chronograph trigger reinforce the collection’s unmistakable aviation‑inspired identity.
One of the Chronofighter’s defining features is its distinctive fast‑action chronograph mechanism. Positioned on the left side of the case, the oversized trigger allows the wearer to start and stop the chronograph using a natural thumb‑operated movement. A separate reset pusher completes the arrangement, offering intuitive operation while reducing interference with wrist movement.
Protected by a domed sapphire crystal featuring anti‑reflective treatment on both sides, the off‑white dial incorporates Grade X1 Super‑LumiNova, providing an exceptional luminous display in reduced lighting conditions. Black Arabic numerals and contrasting black hands enhance readability, while the hands feature white Grade X1 Super‑LumiNova for improved visibility.
A day‑date display positioned at 9 o’clock draws further inspiration from vintage cockpit instrumentation, complementing the chronograph’s 30‑minute counter and central elapsed‑seconds indication. Contrasting red detailing, including the chronograph seconds hand’s red tip and a red counter hand, introduces a subtle sporting character to the otherwise monochromatic design.
Powering the Chronofighter Vintage Aviator DLC White Limited Edition is Graham’s G1747 automatic chronograph calibre. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the Swiss mechanical movement incorporates 25 jewels and delivers approximately 48 hours of power reserve. An Incabloc shock‑protection system enhances mechanical durability, while Chronofiable certification reflects the movement’s resistance to demanding operating conditions. Its automatic winding system ensures convenient everyday operation without the need for regular manual winding.
A transparent sapphire crystal caseback reveals the mechanical movement, providing an appealing contrast to the watch’s purposeful military‑inspired exterior. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, making the timepiece suitable for regular daily wear. Completing the watch is a hand‑sewn black calf leather strap, secured by a stainless‑steel pin buckle. Its understated appearance complements the matte black case and distinctive off‑white dial, maintaining the collection’s vintage aviation character.
Combining Graham’s signature chronograph trigger with contemporary DLC finishing, exceptional luminous readability and reliable Swiss automatic engineering, the Chronofighter Vintage Aviator DLC White Limited Edition offers a distinctive interpretation of the traditional pilot’s chronograph. Restricted to just 100 examples worldwide, it represents an appealing combination of technical functionality, historical inspiration and individual character.
