Bold, unconventional and instantly recognisable, the Graham Swordfish Black Chronograph represents a distinctive expression of contemporary Swiss watchmaking. Inspired by the formidable swordfish, renowned for its speed and powerful presence, this striking timepiece combines an imposing case design with an innovative chronograph display. Reference 2SXAS.B10A embodies Graham's characteristic approach to mechanical watchmaking, where technical functionality meets an unmistakable visual identity.

Crafted from stainless steel, the substantial 46mm case measures approximately 15mm in thickness, delivering a commanding wrist presence. Its robust construction incorporates a fixed satin‑brushed bezel, complemented by chronograph pushers positioned on the right side of the case. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, providing practical protection for everyday activities.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Swordfish collection is its unusual sapphire‑crystal construction. Two prominent magnifying portholes are positioned directly above the chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o'clock, enlarging their indications by approximately 20%. This innovative arrangement enhances legibility while creating the unmistakable appearance that has become synonymous with Graham's Swordfish line.

A black sunburst dial provides a sophisticated backdrop for the chronograph displays, combining contrasting textures with a distinctly sporting aesthetic. Luminous hour markers and hands ensure excellent readability in reduced lighting conditions, while the prominent chronograph counters reinforce the watch's instrument‑inspired character. Carefully considered proportions and the symmetrical arrangement of the oversized registers create a visually balanced composition despite the unconventional architecture.

Powering the Swordfish Black Chronograph is Graham's G1710 automatic mechanical calibre, featuring a distinctive coaxial chronograph counter arrangement. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement incorporates 34 jewels and delivers approximately 48 hours of power reserve. Its chronograph complication provides central elapsed seconds alongside 30‑minute and 12‑hour recording functions, allowing precise measurement of elapsed time. An Incabloc shock‑protection system contributes to the movement's reliability, while traditional decorative finishing reflects Graham's commitment to Swiss mechanical craftsmanship.

A sapphire exhibition caseback offers a view of the automatic movement, revealing decorative elements including circular‑grained surfaces, blued screws and Côtes de Genève finishing. Completing the watch is a black leather strap measuring approximately 22mm between the lugs, secured by a stainless‑steel pin buckle. Its understated appearance provides a refined contrast to the substantial case and distinctive chronograph architecture.

Combining bold proportions, innovative magnifying chronograph displays and reliable Swiss automatic engineering, the Graham Swordfish Black Chronograph 2SXAS.B10A offers a compelling interpretation of the modern mechanical sports watch. Its unmistakable design, technical sophistication and unconventional character make it a distinctive addition to any contemporary watch collection.
