TOCKR ALFRED PEPPER BRONZE D-DAY C-47 STAMPED DIAL

A modern twist on the classic military watches of the twentieth century, manufactured using an authentic relic of WWII memorabilia, the Alfred Pepper D-Day C-47 Stamped Dial by independent brand Tockr is a watch which combines a little piece of history with contemporary styling and dimensions, backed up with a quality Swiss made self winding movement.

Named after airman Lt Alfred Pepper, pilot of the C-47 Skytrain military aircraft ‘That’s All, Brother’ which has recently undergone an extensive restoration, with the little yellow airplane which circulates the dial on the end of the seconds pointer, the seventy-five piece limited edition Alfred Pepper Bronze D-Day C-47 Stamped Dial is a watch with a distinctive eye catching presence, and a lot of character.

The 42mm case is manufactured in bronze, with a grainy brushed finish which accentuates the rich hue of the alloy, and contrasts with the polished crown, while complementing perfectly the choice of green canvas or brown leather straps, which are provided with the watch.

Beneath the sapphire crystal the textured dial is manufactured from a segment of aluminium which has been recovered from the WWII C-47 transporter ‘That’s All, Brother’ during its restoration. Because of this, no two dials are identical, and the lightly weathered, original green-brown camo paintwork on the surface of each one of the Stamped version has its unique personality, complete with scratches, chips and stamped markings.

Legibility in all light conditions is excellent, as the brass toned pencil style hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, as are the arabic numerals which are squared and the hour and minute indices on the inclined rehaut around the edge of the dial. Meanwhile, a window at the three o’clock position displays the date on a white disc.

Inside, and concealed behind an engraved bronze caseback beats a Swiss ETA 2834-A6 self winding movement, which beats at a brisk 28,800 vib/hr and has a power reserve of 42 hours. As each Alfred Pepper D-Day C-47 Stamped Dial is unique, and one of only seventy five numbered pieces, it is an exclusive piece with a direct connection to the past and a historic aircraft.
